“Medical innovation may be about scientific advancement—creeping out to the edge of knowledge and looking over—but it is also about creating systems of health care that begin at the level of the individual and ultimately improve health for entire communities. With its diversity, history and unique set of urban challenges, Harlem has proven an ideal place for me to begin my medical career. TouroCOM offers students the chance to build a solid foundation in the science of medicine while working in the service of a vibrant community that both needs and deserves quality primary care.  My international experiences also led me to New York City; where else can you find so many of the world’s cultures so richly represented? With its tactile and holistic approach to medicine and focus on underserved populations, I found a home in the osteopathic profession, where the focus shall forever be on treating people, not pathologies.”
