“The values and principles of osteopathic medicine are consistent with how I live my life and how I want to practice medicine, and PNWU-COM was by far the best choice I could have made for medical school. The small class size and the support of professors and staff make it feel like a family here; everyone wants you to succeed. The principles of osteopathic medicine are incorporated into every class so that students get a true understanding of what it means to be an osteopathic physician. Then there’s the bonus of adding manipulative medicine to the physician tool belt. I also will be able to return to my hometown in Alaska to fulfill PNWU-COM’s mission and train in my clinical years. I plan to use my knowledge and skills (especially OMM) from PNWU-COM to serve rural communities as a family physician.”
