“When applying to medical school, I found that osteopathic medicine’s principles and ideals fit perfectly with my personal beliefs on how medicine should be practiced. After college, I began a program in dietetics and worked on a research project based focused on childhood obesity in Detroit. Choosing a career in osteopathic medicine provided me with continued opportunities to work with patients in settings outside of the standard medical office.  Osteopathic medicine has strengthened my desire to treat the whole patient, and not just their symptoms.  I knew that MSUCOM was the right fit for me because of the many learning opportunities it provides outside of the classroom.   As the Class of 2014 President, I have been able to gain valuable leadership skills that will carry over into my career as a physician.  MSUCOM is committed to producing DOs who are dedicated to their communities, and I hope to embody the ideals of the college and osteopathic medicine throughout my career.”
