"Osteopathic medicine always seemed like the right fit for me.  I went to Virginia Tech for undergraduate and graduate school and spent many years working in the sports medicine department as a student athletic trainer.  Given the school’s close association with VCOM, all of our team physicians were DOs.  I saw firsthand the benefits of manipulative therapies, but more importantly, I liked the way DOs interacted with patients.  They were the kind of doctor I want to be.  When it was my time to head off to medical school, I settled on WVSOM.  Here, there is such a tight-knit community of faculty and students, and everyone feels right at home.  Everyone helps one another, and there is a huge emphasis placed on the importance of hands-on experience.  I have never regretted my choice, and I recommend WVSOM to any student looking at osteopathic medicine.”
