“TUNCOM is a perfect fit for me because of the friendly and supportive faculty and fellow classmates. Help is consistently available on every level – academically, professionally and personally. Prior to starting my medical education, I was debating between osteopathic and allopathic medicine. After doing research, I realized that becoming a DO meant viewing the patient in a holistic manner and treating the whole patient rather than just their symptoms. Osteopathic medicine gives me the ability to treat my patients in a noninvasive manner with osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT). OMT brings the body back to a normal state and promotes the body’s innate ability to heal itself. In this profession, I will have the capability to help my patients by treating them, but also in aiding with preventive care.”
