West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine

“I want to become an osteopathic physician because the osteopathic philosophy coincides with the traditional eastern medicine values with which I was raised. WVSOM is great because of the hospitality of the faculty and staff, the enthusiasm of the professors and their willingness to help me succeed, and my classmates, who are always there for me and one another. I fit at WVSOM because of the school’s system-based curriculum, which will prepare me better for boards, and because the school’s environment has little distraction, allowing me to succeed in my courses. As an osteopathic physician, I can incorporate my traditional upbringing with a holistic approach to patients. I will also use my knowledge of osteopathic manipulation treatment to help bring the body back to homeostasis. By incorporating all of this knowledge, I hope to raise my patients’ awareness of osteopathic physicians’ technique and role in the health care field.”
