“I believe in treating a patient as a unit – composed of mind, body, and spirit – all of which must be balanced and healthy for the body to work and heal at its greatest potential. This is a concept that truly resonates with my own medical philosophy. I love my COM – UNTHSC/TCOM – because in every aspect of our education, the college emphasizes osteopathic principles. I was born and raised in Aiea, Hawaii, and attended Texas Christian University and the University of North Texas Health Science Center. I respect UNTHSC/TCOM because the college understood that while I did not have a perfect transcript, I showed great perseverance throughout my academic career and continued to improve and succeed despite the various challenges and setbacks I experienced. UNTHSC/TCOM looked at my character, dedication, and potential as a student, and continues to support and encourage me, and my peers, in every aspect of our lives, regardless of our personal difficulties. The philosophy UNTHSC/TCOM encourages future physicians to apply to their patients, is the same philosophy UNTHSC/TCOM strives to apply to its students.”
