“One of the main reasons I chose to pursue osteopathic medicine was simply its philosophy. Key principles such as "the body is unit and has an inherent capacity to repair itself" resonated with my core beliefs regarding medicine and the human body. As a future DO, I seek to care for the person as a whole and not just to treat individual symptoms. Coming from a public health background and working at a mental hospital, I searched for a school that prioritized caring for the most vulnerable members of our community. PNWU-COM addresses this need by integrating service learning and volunteer activities into our curriculum, all while providing an outstanding medical education. PNWU will allow me to learn and train with physicians who devote their lives to the service of others. I hope to graduate with a newly defined notion of humanitarianism and the skills necessary to better my community.”
