“Medicine requires more than simply treating a disease. Patients recover better when we address their body, mind and spirits. This is the philosophy of osteopathic medicine, and a philosophy I want to embrace as a physician. For me, medicine is learned best through practical application of knowledge, which is why I fell in love with the PBL pathway at LECOM. With a biomedical engineering background, my holistic view of how our body responds to the introduction of foreign prosthetics and pharmacological drugs paralleled osteopathic medicine’s holistic view of the body, which made me a perfect fit. As a DO, I plan to value the treatment of not only the body, but also of the mind and the spirit of my patients, allowing them to lead stronger, healthier lives.”
