“My interest in medicine began to take root in 2005 while I was stationed in Iraq as part of a Marine Corps helicopter squadron that performed medical evacuation missions. Though I highly valued my role as a pilot, my interest in the work of the doctors began to outpace my desire to fly. I was heavily influenced by the squadron flight surgeon, a DO and close friend who introduced me to osteopathic medicine.

“UNTHSC/TCOM is the ideal place for me. Here, the faculty and staff appreciated the fact that I had a family, and my previous life experience was regarded as strength. This place has a heart that passionately beats for the people that it serves in the local community and across the country. I eagerly anticipate my future and hope to benefit a small community as a family physician or in the field of emergency medicine.”
