West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine

“My first experience with an osteopathic physician came as an undergraduate in Idaho; my recently born daughter had several wellness visits with a doctor who took a great interest in our family’s life with the recent addition.  After several visits, I noted the letters ‘DO’ following his name, which sparked my desire to learn more about osteopathic medicine.  As I attended WVSOM for my interview, there was no question this beautiful campus and small town was the place to bring my family.  As I continue my journey at WVSOM, I have learned why my daughter’s pediatrician took so much interest in us so many years ago—treating a patient is more than just writing a prescription; it means treating the whole patient.  Attending this school has allowed me several opportunities to work closely with administrators, clinicians, faculty and staff, and it is evident that their biggest concern is for the students.”
