“The core principles of osteopathic medicine, particularly treating the mind, body, and spirit as a unit, initially drove my interest in choosing to pursue this profession.  I feel that this perspective not only allows me to use my science background in a unique and challenging way, but also helps me be a better student, and will help me be a better physician.  Becoming a DO goes beyond being someone’s physician; the skills that we learn and values we adopt make osteopathic physicians excellent providers and advocates for their patients.   AZCOM provides many opportunities to students to enhance their education and experiences, such as research or volunteering through our many student-led organizations.  The amazing faculty and staff are always receptive to student input, and many of the improvements across campus are student-led.  The many different health care education programs across campus provide a special sense of community, and solidify the idea of being part of an interdisciplinary health care team.”
