IPEC Announces USPHS Award Winner and Fall 2017 Faculty Development Institute

LECOM Awarded Honorable Mention in IPEC Inaugural USPHS Award

On May 22, the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) and U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) announced their inaugural USPHS award winner and finalists recognized for excellence in interprofessional education. Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) received Honorable Mention for their submission Community Paramedicine in the category Health Communications and Health Technology.

Award nominations submitted by interprofessional teams were evaluated by their contribution to public health promotion through multidisciplinary collaboration among health professionals and the community. These partnerships are the cornerstone of accessible, safe, impactful, high quality community health care and demonstrate IPEC’s vision for team-based, community-oriented practice. Attend the Fall 2017 IPEC Institute

The Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) is pleased to announce the next Interprofessional Faculty Development Institute titled “Interprofessional Education: Advancing & Sustaining Your Program for Collaborative Practice” on October 18-20, 2017 in Long Beach, CA. Focus

The overall goal of the institute is to provide participants the opportunity to acquire and utilize knowledge and skills to further advance their existing institutional interprofessional education and collaborative practice program. Post-baccalaureate health professions faculty, their IPE colleagues, and their collaborative practice partners will have both quality time and dedicated space for guided learning, team-based planning activities, and consultation with experts and peers in order to emerge with an advanced programmatic action plan to augment their current IPE and IPC initiatives in program and outcomes evaluation and assessment.

Target Audience

Faculty across the health disciplines and their community health partners who have previously attended an IPEC institute and/or who have home programs that could benefit from focused and in-depth levels of engagement on IPE assessment topics.

Registration

Registration is now open and will be on a first come, first serve basis until the maximum number of registrants for the institute is achieved. Team leaders should be identified and register all members at one time. Early-bird registration expires August 15. Register at www.ipecollaborative.org
