This CME will focus on the integration of Osteopathic Principles and Practice (OPP), including osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), into clinical problem solving and patient care. Common clinical problems seen in primary care will be reviewed to cover relevant anatomy, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment options including
OMM for each covered diagnosis. Documentation, billing, and coding for osteopathic manipulation will also be covered
- Describe the pharmacological, surgical, and lifestyle and other conservative interventions used in the management of the conditions reviewed and discuss the risks and benefits of each treatment option.
- Describe the osteopathic manipulative treatment approach to management of the conditions reviewed and discuss
the treatment goals of the various types of techniques.
- Demonstrate the specific steps for osteopathic manipulative techniques to treat somatic dysfunction related to the
Resident Physicians, Practicing physicians and clinicians
