Women in Medicine Month

AACOM spoke with Dr. Nichols about her significant accomplishments as a leader in osteopathic medical education (OME), her advice and words of wisdom to others, especially women, who are interested in leadership and her thoughts about the importance of supporting, recruiting and retaining women in medicine.

The Coalition for Physician Accountability working group released new guidance on interviewing during the 2021-22 residency season for medical education institutions considering applicants from LCME-accredited, U.S. osteopathic and non-U.S. medical schools.

The SDOH Caucus will explore opportunities to improve the impact of services delivered to address social determinants with the support of federal funding. It will work to amplify evidence-based approaches to holistic well-being. AACOM members are encouraged to respond to the SDOH Caucus request for information by September 21 and share your responses with us at .

Interprofessional Collaboration

The October 2021 IPEC Institute is an advanced virtual program for those trying to sustain or strengthen their interprofessional education for collaborative practice programs while increasing faculty readiness and student preparation around inclusion, diversity, health equity and advocacy. Registration includes four days of live, synchronous sessions and speakers on October 12, 14, 19 and 21, with 12 months of on-demand access to module presentations and recordings.
