Inside OME

Graduate Medical Education

Dimitri Tito, DO, chair of AACOM's Assembly of Osteopathic Graduate Medical Educators (AOGME) Residents and Fellows Council (RFC), spoke with AACOM about his path to osteopathic medicine, his experience in a graduate medical education program with Osteopathic Recognition and his inspiring passion for leadership and service.

For the 2022-2023 academic year, AACOM joins its partners in the Coalition for Physician Accountability, a cross-organizational group of national medical education organizations, in concluding that student travel to away rotations should not be restricted.

Key findings from the report include data on first-year enrollment by gender and race-ethnicity, total enrollment by gender and race-ethnicity and revenues and expenditures.

AACOM's Osteopathic Health Policy Intern Alana Castro-Gilliard, OMS IV at VCOM-Virginia, highlights the importance of non-Black healthcare professionals working to learn from, and transcend, our American healthcare system’s generations of racial inequities.
