Diversity

“Patients are facing a growing challenge with accessing medical care, particularly in underserved and rural communities. Each of these recipients is committed to bringing osteopathic medical treatment to those most in need," said AACOM President and CEO Robert A. Cain, DO.

On December 6, the AACOM Council on Diversity and Equity will host a fireside chat where they will address members’ concerns and challenges related to diversity, equity and inclusion and equip them with the tools and resources needed to effectively advocate at their institutions and beyond.

As a new class of third-year medical students begins their coursework, don't let them miss this indispensable resource to supplement their instruction around health equity and health disparities. The program will lead participants to better understand disparities and where they exist across marginalized populations.

Educating Leaders

Mark your calendars for Educating Leaders 2023, the AACOM Annual Conference, from April 26-28! We loved welcoming everyone back in person this year, and hope you will join us and your colleagues to celebrate AACOM's 125th anniversary next year in Baltimore, Maryland. The event will continue to be hybrid, giving you the freedom to choose your own experience.

Graduate Medical Education

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER) program is issuing a call for nominations for membership on the CLER Evaluation Committee. Members will be selected based on current needs, professional qualifications, geographic distribution and diversity in gender and race, and recommended to the ACGME Board of Directors for confirmation. Applications are due November 15.
