2018-2019 AACOMAS Application Cycle Now Open

May 16, 2018

On May 3 the AACOM Application Service (AACOMAS), the centralized online application service for the nation’s osteopathic medical colleges, launched for the 2018-2019 application cycle. This year’s system includes more advanced features and functionality designed to assist colleges in optimizing their admissions processes. Other enhancements will result in a more efficient application process for applicants.

The 2017-2018 application cycle closed in April with the highest number of applicants in the history of AACOMAS. There were 21,742 applicants, an increase of 1.44%. The number of applicants per Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) approved seats increased from 2.85 to 2.91.

The AACOMAS Advantage

AACOMAS simplifies the osteopathic medical school application process. Due to the tremendous growth in osteopathic medical education, prospective students are strongly encouraged to submit applications early to increase their chances for consideration by the college(s) of their choice. U.S. colleges of osteopathic medicine (COMs) will begin processing applications for the fall 2019 entering class on June 15 or later.

Visit the AACOMAS web page for detailed information about the application process, including general admission requirements, application deadlines, and more.

Applicants may visit the AACOMAS application to complete and submit applications, and view the status, updates, and other important information related to their application(s).

2018-2019 Osteopathic Medical College Information Book

The 2018-2019 Osteopathic Medical College Information Book (CIB) is an essential resource for prospective applicants, applicants, health professions advisors, and others interested in osteopathic medical school and osteopathic medical education. The 2018-2019 edition includes updated admissions requirements, tuition, fees, application deadlines, and other important information for each of the nation’s 34 COMs. The free, digital version of the 2018-2019 CIB is now available online. The print version will be available for purchase this summer.
