Robert E. Mancini, PhD, DO, passed away from Parkinson’s disease on November 17, 2010. Dr. Mancini was a renowned educator, and his leadership and passion for teaching influenced many in the osteopathic medical education field. He taught at both the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he also served as Assistant Dean, Associate Dean and Chair of the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Experimental Therapeutics. In 1973, Dr. Mancini served as the Examiner Consultant in Pharmacology for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME), and from 1987 to 1989, he served as President of NBOME.
