On June 24, DOCARE opened a new teaching and medical care site in San Andres Itzapa, Guatemala. AACOM Associate Vice President for Medical Education and President-elect of DOCARE Tyler Cymet, DO, attended the clinic opening. The site is DOCARE’s first year-round continuity clinic, offering medical care to indigenous people of the region and also providing osteopathic medical students with the opportunity to participate in two-, three-, and four-week rotations at the site. For more information on how fourth-year Spanish-speaking osteopathic medical students can seek an international clerkship through DOCARE, visit here.
DOCARE International is a medical outreach organization dedicated to providing much-needed health care to indigent and isolated people in remote areas around the world.
