The National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) has issued a call for letters of intent for the 2012-2013 Edward J. Stemmler, MD, Medical Education Research Fund (“The Stemmler Fund”). Eligible applicants for Stemmler Fund grant awards include researchers (individuals and teams) from medical schools accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).
Qualified researchers who wish to apply are required to submit brief letters of intent introducing their proposal. The letters will undergo evaluation by the Stemmler Fund Steering Committee, and should describe projects that advance research or innovative assessment methods in medical education or practice. All proposals will compete for up to $150,000 in research funding. The deadline for letters of intent is July 2, 2012.
