Ron Gaber, EdS, has retired from his position as Vice President for Student Affairs at A.T. Still University (ATSU), effective March 2, 2012. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Gaber was an ATSU faculty member for 24 years. His former positions at the school included Associate Professor, Vice President and Dean of Students, and Associate Dean of Student Affairs. During his career, Mr. Gaber also served three years as Chair of the AACOM Council of Osteopathic Medical Student Services Officers (COMSSO).
Dr. Christopher G. Halliday, Assistant Surgeon General of the United States, Named Inaugural Dean of ATSU’s Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health
Christopher G. Halliday, DDS, MPH, Assistant Surgeon General of the United States, has been named inaugural Dean of A.T. Still University of Health Sciences’ Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health, effective June 1, 2012. The new dental school will be located on the university’s Kirksville, Missouri campus, with construction scheduled to begin March 15, 2012.
Proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine Names Founding Dean
Ronnie Martin DO, has been named Founding Dean of the proposed Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Lynchburg, VA. The school is still in the preliminary planning phase. Dr. Martin currently serves as Vice Dean for Post-Graduate Affairs at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM). Prior to joining VCOM, Dr. Martin was founding Dean at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences Names New President
Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) has announced the appointment of Dr. Keith Watson as President, effective July 1, 2012. Dr. Watson, currently Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and a member of the AACOM Board of Deans, has worked with PNWU since 2009, serving as a development and curriculum consultant for the university, and as a member of PNWU’s Board of Trustees. Dr. Watson will succeed current PNWU interim President Lloyd Butler, DO.
