AACOM President Participates in Primary Care Workforce Panel
On November 5, 2012, AACOM President and CEO Stephen C. Shannon, DO, MPH, took part in a panel discussion held by the Association of Deans and Directors of Primary Care. The meeting highlighted possible methods to create a more balanced health care workforce from different perspectives across the health care continuum. The panel discussion was held in conjunction with the 2012 Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California.
AACOM President Takes Part in ASPH Panel
AACOM President and CEO Stephen C. Shannon, DO, MPH, participated in a recent panel discussion on public health as it relates to health professions education. Hosted by the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH), the panel, entitled “Perspectives on Interprofessional Education: Public Health as a Unifying Force in Health Professions Education,” took place on October 28, in San Francisco, California, during the 2012 ASPH Annual Meeting.
Associate VP for Medical Education Presents at MedEd Conference
AACOM Associate Vice President for Medical Education Tyler Cymet, DO, led a recent Educators in Osteopathic Medicine meeting. The meeting, which focused on emerging issues in osteopathic medical education, was held November 5, 2012, in San Francisco California, in conjunction with AAMC’s 2012 Annual Meeting. It is the second year that this meeting has been held at AAMC’s annual meeting.
Associate VP for Medical Education Attends Generalists in Medical Education Meeting
AACOM Associate Vice President for Medical Education Tyler Cymet, DO, attended the Generalists in Medical Education meeting on November 3, 2012, in conjunction with AAMC’s 2012 Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California. The meeting convened under the leadership of Machelle Linsenmeyer, EdD, Director of the Office of Educational Development at the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine (OSU-COM).
