The American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) is now accepting applications for its 2014 Osteopathic Health Policy Intern (OHPI) Program. Osteopathic medical students who are interested in health policy and would like to gain first-hand experience in Washington, DC, are encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is February 22, 2013.

OHPIs spend two months with the AACOM government relations team and gain a deeper understanding of health policy development and implementation, meet with federal agency officials and attend hearings on Capitol Hill. During their time at AACOM, each OHPI will complete a health policy paper based on the initial health policy interest paper they submitted during the application process. AACOM provides interns a stipend, housing, and local business travel expenses, and makes every practical effort to identify the two-month period that works best for each selected OHPI.

For application instructions and more information on the 2014 OHPI Program, visit the OHPI webpage.
