The Healthy People 2020 initiative has been supporting the achievement of a broad set of national objectives for improving America’s health since its launch in 2010. There are nearly 600 of these wellness objectives, which are organized into a 10-year program set to conclude in year 2020.
In an effort to keep interested individuals connected with the program’s initiatives and offer relevant, up-to-date information, Healthy People 2020 hosts one or more monthly webinars, each focused on various current leading health issues based on its 10-year program. This month, Healthy People 2020 held two webinars.
The first November webinar, entitled “Using Healthy People to Achieve Your Goals: Implementation, Action, and New Tools,” focused on how individuals and organizations can use the Healthy People 2020 network to achieve their health goals. The second webinar, entitled “Who’s Leading the Leading Health Indicators? Webinar: Tobacco,” highlighted the success of one community-based program in addressing the problem of tobacco use in its community. If you are interested in either of these topics, archived versions of the presentations will be made available on the Healthy People 2020 website.
