AACOM, in collaboration with the Pre-Student Osteopathic Medical Association (Pre-SOMA), invites the osteopathic medical education (OME) community to participate in 2016 ShaDO Week. Save the date for the national spring event, which will be held April 17-23.

Increasing the Pipeline of Prospective Students

Join Pre-SOMA during this year’s National ShaDO Week to help pre-medical students explore osteopathic medicine at the U.S. colleges of osteopathic medicine (COMs). The annual event allows pre-meds to ‘shadow’ osteopathic medical students while they attend lectures, osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) workshops, and Q&A sessions, among other activities. National ShaDO Week provides prospective students with the opportunity to interact with DO students and faculty, and also for current DO students to grow as leaders by mentoring future medical students. View the 2016 ShaDO Week flyer.

Registration deadline: Thursday, March 31.

Throughout the week of April 17-23, individual COMs will be hosting events and activities for those interested in applying to osteopathic medical school. See this year’s list of participating COMs and register today!

NOM Week 2016

This year, 2016 National ShaDO Week will be held in conjunction with the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)’s National Osteopathic Medicine (NOM) Week, April 17-23.

NOM Week brings the osteopathic medical profession together to focus on one common goal—increasing awareness of osteopathic medicine and DOs in communities across the country. Show your osteopathic pride by participating in 2016 NOM Week and promoting osteopathic medicine. Visit the AOA website for more information and to access NOM Week Resources.
