New AACOMAS Applicant Profile Report offers a snapshot of today’s osteopathic medical school applicants.
Over the past decade, the number of AACOM Application Service (AACOMAS) applicants to the U.S. osteopathic medical schools has more than doubled in size.
According to the 2016 AACOMAS Applicant Profile Report, AACOMAS received 185,602 individual school applications from 20,720 applicants for the available 6,592 Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA)-approved seats of the 2016 entering class, representing an overall increase from previous years.
As interest in osteopathic medicine continues to grow, the applicant profile evolves and the pool becomes increasingly more competitive and diverse. AACOM’s annual applicant report provides a snapshot of the osteopathic applicant pool and summarizes data on demographics, education, and testing scores, among other valuable insights. New this year, the report includes information about applicant socioeconomic status, visas and dual residency, and more!
