Health Professions Week - September 26 -30, 2016

AACOM is excited to participate in the first ever Health Professions Week (HPW) from Monday, September 26 to Friday, September 30.

The upcoming event is the first of its kind, designed to provide students with interactive opportunities to explore the available medical and health education programs and career pathways, through the collaboration of 19 health professions associations. HPW participants will learn about the roles and responsibilities of each profession, talk directly with current health care practitioners, and get an overview of the educational requirements for a future career as an osteopathic physician.

As part of AACOM’s enhanced recruitment efforts and goal of targeting prospective students earlier to expand the OME pipeline, we will be hosting a virtual fair on Monday, September 26. AACOM encourages our member colleges of osteopathic medicine (COMs) and all those of the osteopathic medical education (OME) community to join us in this interactive week-long event. Learn how to get involved.

HPW features a week of free online events for high school and undergraduate students to chat with faculty, staff, and current medical students at osteopathic medical schools across the country, including:
  • A virtual fair
  • Community Connect Day
  • An online treasure hunt
  • And more!
