Don Peska, DO, MEd, FACOS, Named Interim Dean and Chief Academic Officer at BCOM

Don Peska, DO, MEdDon N. Peska, DO, MEd, FACOS, is the new Interim Dean and Chief Academic Officer at the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM). He succeeds George Mychaskiw II, DO, Founding Dean. Dr. Mychaskiw will remain a part of BCOM’s institutional leadership as the Vice President of Development and External Relations.

Dr. Peska most recently served as the Dean of the University of North Texas Health Science Center-Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNTHSC-TCOM) from 2009 to 2017. He has held various leadership positions at UNTHSC-TCOM since he began working there in 1982. During his time there, he established the TCOM Academy of Medical Educators, who were responsible for modernizing and integrating the curriculum and are attributed with the ongoing success of UNTHSC-TCOM.

Dr. Peska received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine (DMU-COM).
