Gender Graduates Osteopathic Medical Colleges Race/Ethnicity Research Reports Trends

The total for 2021-22 graduates is 7,702 which is an increase of 286 graduates or 3.9 percent since 2020-21 graduates. 

Male graduates decreased by 49 graduates or 1.2 percent while female graduates increased by 334 graduates or 9.8 percent since 2020-21 graduates.  There was an increase of one graduate for the undisclosed category when compared to 2020-21 graduates.

The underrepresented minority (URM) percentage for 2021-22 graduates is 9.9 percent when compared to 9.3 percent for 2020-21 graduates. This overall percentage increase is attributed to growth in the following URM categories:

  • Hispanic/Latino increased by 30 graduates or 6.8 percent
  • American Indian/Alaska Native, non-Hispanic increased by 12 graduates or 70.6 percent
  • Black/African American, non-Hispanic increased by 31 graduates or 13.8 percent
