This GME Development Series webinar will highlight state-level collaboration for GME development

State-level collaboration is a powerful tool for expanding GME and addressing physician workforce needs. This webinar will explore how states have successfully developed funding initiatives, fostered public-private partnerships and leveraged university-driven networks to support GME growth. Panelists will share firsthand experiences from different states, highlighting program structures, funding mechanisms and key lessons learned.

The session will feature case studies from multiple states that have implemented GME grant programs, showcasing various models of funding and collaboration. Panelists will discuss program design, outcomes and challenges, providing insights into how these strategies can be adapted to other states seeking to enhance GME capacity.

Webinar Objectives:

  1. Examine different state-level GME funding models and their impact on residency program development.
  2. Identify potential challenges and barriers in establishing state-supported GME initiatives.
  3. Discuss key elements and evaluation criteria for designing and implementing GME grant programs.
