TUCOM-CA Announces Tami Hendriksz, DO, as New Dean

TUCOMCA_Hendriksz_200x300Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine – California (TUCOM-CA) is pleased to announce Tami Hendriksz, DO, as the new dean of the college of osteopathic medicine. She is a TUCOM-CA alumna and has worked at the college for the last 12 years in a variety of roles, including vice chair of the primary care department, assistant dean of clinical integration, associate dean of clinical education and associate dean of academic affairs. She has also served as a professor of pediatrics and has been a five-time recipient of the TUCOM-CA Teacher of the Year Award.

“As an alumna and a pediatrician with Solano County Public Health and the Vallejo City Unified School District, Dr. Hendriksz brings a passion for serving our students and our community,” said TUCOM-CA Provost and Chief Academic Officer Sarah Sweitzer, PhD. “Dr. Hendriksz has served in a variety of leadership positions within the college of osteopathic medicine and I know she’ll continue our trajectory of growth in research, clinical partnerships and community impact as we train osteopathic medicine leaders prepared to serve our diverse communities in 2030."

Dr. Hendriksz received a prestigious Innovation in Medical Education Award offered by AACOM’s Society of Osteopathic Medical Educators, and was named a Champion of Humanistic Care by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. She served as the editor-in-chief of the eJournal of the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians for seven years and continues to serve on the editorial board of the Journal of Osteopathic Medicine.
