General Information
Welcome to the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Touro University Nevada, located in Henderson, Nevada. Just minutes from the vibrant city of Las Vegas.
Since opening in 2004, TUNCOM has become a leader in osteopathic medical education and a vital contributor to Nevada’s growing physician workforce. TUNCOM prepares the next generation of physicians to combine clinical excellence, technological fluency, and compassionate patient care. As an osteopathic medical school, we embrace the philosophy of high tech, high touch, and high transformation. Our graduates are prepared not only to practice innovative medicine, but also to treat patients with empathy, respect, and a whole-person approach to health.
Curriculum-Designed for the Future of Medicine
TUNCOM’s curriculum prepares students for the rapidly changing landscape of healthcare through an integrated and forward-thinking approach. Students begin building clinical skills from the first days of medical school through osteopathic manipulative medicine training, simulation experiences, standardized patient encounters, and case-based learning. These experiences help develop clinical reasoning and patient centered care early in the educational journey.
Our curriculum integrates the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of health, reinforcing the osteopathic philosophy that treating the whole person leads to better outcomes for patients and communities.
Students also gain exposure to emerging technologies shaping the future of healthcare, including Point-of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and evolving role of Artificial Intelligence in medical practice and medical education. The Michael Tang Regional Center for Clinical Simulation (Center) has been awarded full accreditation from The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). In our state-of-the-art Simulation Center, our students practice procedures, clinical decision-making, and team-based care in a high-fidelity learning environment that prepares them for real clinical settings.
Preparing Compassionate Physician Leaders
At TUNCOM, we believe the practice of medicine requires both scientific mastery and humanistic leadership. Students participate in mentorship and professional identify formation experiences that foster compassion, reflection, and service to others. Our supportive learning environment encourages collaboration while helping students grow into confident physicians and leaders. Students also have opportunities to participate in research and scholarly activity in areas such as basic sciences, clinical research, medical education, and health policy. These experiences help students explore career interest while strengthening their preparation for residency training.
Strong Outcomes and National Recognition
TUNCOM maintains a strong track record of academic excellence student success.
In 2022, the College of Osteopathic Medicine received the highest level of accreditation from the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) with a ten-year accreditation period, recognizing the strength of our education program and institutional outcomes. Our graduates consistently achieve strong board examination performance and secure competitive residency placements across the United States, with match and placements at or near 100% in recent years.
A Supportive Campus and Community
TUNCOM students benefit from a close knit and supportive campus culture where collaboration and wellness are prioritized. Student wellness is supported through facilities including a Wellness Center, yoga and dance studio, esports lounge, and basketball and volleyball courts. A unique feature of student life is our House System, where students are placed into one of six Houses that promote mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement throughout medical school. Students participate in numerous specialty interest groups, service initiatives, and student organizations, allowing them to explore their passions while building lifelong professional relationships within the COM and across campus academic programs.
Henderson, Nevada, consistently ranks as one of the safest cities of its size in the United States. Our campus offers access to outdoor recreation, national parks, and year-round sunshine. Students enjoy the proximity to Las Vegas, an international entertainment destination and now home to many major league sports teams and entertainment opportunities. Our location allows for convenient air travel and easy access to major roadways.
Community to Community
Serving the community is central to the mission of TUNCOM. Our students actively participate in outreach programs that support the diverse communities of Southern Nevada. Students have opportunities to engage in research within our campus laboratories, collaborate with faculty on projects, and work with professionals in the medical community that advance medical knowledge and healthcare delivery.

Curricular Offerings
Our central focus is on positioning students to succeed through intellectual challenge and clinical engagement. TUNCOM’s basic and clinical sciences faculty work collaboratively and are driven to support each student in reaching their goals and aspirations. We accomplish this through a systems–based curriculum and by providing students with the educational resources and environment to grow academically, professionally and personally.
As active participants in their education, students experience practical, real–world application of the foundational concepts embedded throughout the curriculum. Whether it is through interactive lectures, small group sessions, engagement with a trained, standardized patient, or working with patients in the community, our focus is on the student’s development. Medical students at TUN find themselves as part of a larger, interdisciplinary community of aspiring health care professionals, working under one roof to forge a healthier future for the families of the region.
At TUNCOM, we enjoy a relationship with our community and regional hospitals that provides an educational experience unique to Southern Nevada. These relationships allow for all students to remain in the Las Vegas valley during that crucial first year of clinical experiences while still enjoying the support of the University’s resources.
