Osteopathic Recognition Study: A Concurrent Mixed Methods Approach

In this webinar, the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS) research team presented the findings of their 18-month study of interest in and barriers to applying for and maintaining Osteopathic Recognition status

In 2022, AACOM was awarded a grant from the Osteopathic Heritage Foundations (OHF) to engage in a study of Osteopathic Recognition, including understanding interest in and barriers to applying for and maintaining Osteopathic Recognition status. The Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS) research team led this 18-month research project and presented its findings during this webinar.

Objectives:

  • Understand what the barriers are for applying to Osteopathic Recognition
  • Learn why programs withdraw from Osteopathic Recognition
  • Explore how changes in program leadership impact program adoption, maintenance and development of formalized Osteopathic Principles and Practices (OPP)
