President & Chief Executive Officer

Stephen C. Shannon, DO, MPH, as President and Chief Executive Officer, directs AACOM and moves the organization towards fulfilling its vision and mission. The work of the President is overseen by AACOM's Governing Council, the Board of Deans.

Interim Chief Operating Officer

Harvey Tillipman, MBA, MSW, as AACOM's Interim Chief Operating Officer, oversees organization infrastructure to enhance processes and maximize collaboration among AACOM's leadership. His work focuses on AACOM’s strategic direction, positioning programmatic efforts to achieve the association’s mission. Harvey manages Application Services, Recruitment, Students Affairs, Finance, Communications, and Technology to ensure continued development and improvement of association standards.

Interim Senior Vice President for Medical Education and Research

Thomas Levitan, MEd, as Interim Senior Vice President for Medical Education and Research, ovesees the Medical Education department's efforts to promote excellence in osteopathic medical education and directs collection and analysis of statistical data regarding the students, applicants, faculty and staff, and other elements of the colleges of osteopathic medicine. In this role he also sets department goals and objectives and will help identify and train a permanent successor.

Senior Vice President of Government Relations

Pamela Murphy, MSW, as Senior Vice President of Government Relations, leads the association’s congressional and federal policy advocacy efforts, works with AACOM’s membership and other associations to present unified health professions positions to policy makers, and monitors legislative and regulatory developments relevant to osteopathic medical education and the osteopathic profession.

Vice President and Chair for Medical Education

Luke H. Mortensen, PhD, FAHA
, as Vice President and Chair for Medical Education, works with the colleges to promote excellence in osteopathic medical education throughout the educational continuum. The office also facilitates collaboration, provides services through constituent group activities, and develops resources for osteopathic medical education professionals.


Vice President of Member and Student Relations

Raymond (Ray) Perez, as AACOM's Vice President of Member and Student Relations, Perez will be responsible for implementing the Association's marketing and communications strategic plan, managing the operations and business objectives in conjunction with that plan, developing a strong, results-orientated team, and building strong relationships and a positive image with AACOM’s member schools, student population, and other relevant groups.


Interim Vice President of Communications and Marketing

Howard Glassroth, MBA, as AACOM's Interim VP of Communications and Marketing, leads the development and execution of an integrated communications and marketing strategy that supports AACOM’s public policy agenda and its mission. He provides branding, messaging, PR, and enterprise-wide communications direction, working closely with AACOM staff, member colleges, and other affiliate organizations. 

Chief of Clinical Education

Tyler Cymet, DO, as Chief of Clinical Education, develops, coordinates and implements AACOM activities related to clinical education, from undergraduate medical education through residency, with an emphasis on clinical faculty development and coordination.
