Healthy Brain and Child Development - OK Pool
Date Published April 20, 2026
Healthy Brain and Child Development study to engage families in brain and child development research.
The HBCD OK Pool is the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences site of the national Healthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) study. The HBCD team is based at the OSU Hardesty Center for Clinical Research and Neuroscience in Tulsa. The site is explicitly designed with families in mind: study visits, including MRI scans, take place at the Hardesty Research Center, which offers easy and free parking, family-friendly waiting and interview rooms, comfortable furniture and toys and books for children. The team emphasizes creating an environment where families feel welcome, valued and safe throughout participation. The OSU HBCD site brings together a multidisciplinary investigator team and research staff experienced in working with caregivers and children from diverse backgrounds and those who have experienced depression, anxiety, adverse childhood experiences and substance use.
