The Healthy Brain and Child Development - NCAC
Date Published April 20, 2026
The Healthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) Consortium Administrative Core (HCAC) is a collaborative component of the broader HBCD study, which coordinates and supports a large, multi-site observational effort focused on early brain and child development. The HCAC site listing and leadership structure demonstrate the consortium's multi-institutional reach, encompassing major research hospitals, universities, and child health centers across the United States.
The Administrative Core lists a diverse set of co-investigators and site principal investigators, representing expertise in pediatrics, public health, neuroscience, and related fields. The HCAC also enumerates numerous institutional recruitment sites and partner organizations, including Arkansas Children's Research Institute, Boston Children's Hospital, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Johns Hopkins University and Kennedy Krieger Institute, Northwestern University, NYU Langone Health, Oregon Health & Science University, Penn State College of Medicine, University of California San Diego Health, University of Minnesota, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Vanderbilt University, Virginia Tech, Washington University in St. Louis, and others. This breadth of participating sites underscores the consortium's capacity for large-scale, geographically diverse data collection and cross-institutional collaboration.
