Published November 12, 2020
Share your knowledge, experience and solutions with the osteopathic medical education (OME) community to help the profession advance and grow! Submit your abstract for Educating Leaders 2021, the AACOM Annual Conference, to be held virtually April 20 – 22, 2021, by tomorrow’s deadline, Friday, November 13, 2020 at 11:59 PM ET.
“I can’t wait to see the great work that you are doing at our colleges of osteopathic medicine as we work together to develop excellent osteopathic physicians,” says Mark Speicher, PhD, MHA, AACOM’s Senior Vice President for Medical Education and Research. “Our faculty, staff, and students are doing truly incredible work, and this is your chance to show it off. By submitting your abstract for Educating Leaders 2021, AACOM’s Virtual Annual Conference, you will not only be sharing your ideas with the entire OME community, but you will also have your work recognized by your peers! For those of you thinking of submitting an abstract, it’s now time to get started by accessing our conference website.”
Abstract Content and Reach
Your abstract can fall under one of two types: Research or Novel Approach. Research abstracts should summarize your research or your program evaluation. Novel Approach abstracts should describe a change to a current way of doing things that results in better outcomes, or a novel approach to a challenge faced in OME. Abstracts will be accepted in the following key audience tracks:
- Admissions
- Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) – Pre-Clinical
- UME – Clinical
- Transition to Graduate Medical Education (GME) – Advising
- GME Faculty
All abstracts are peer reviewed and, if accepted, your work will be accessible to hundreds of attendees. Last year’s presentations received an average of 117 views each, while conference content received more than 15,000 visitors between April 1 and June 5, 2020. Fifty-five percent of Educating Leaders 2020 abstracts accepted were submitted for publication in the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association.
