Jordan Spencer, DO, is a distinguished advocate for osteopathic medical education with a wealth of experience. Notably, he assumed the role of Vice Chair for the Assembly of Osteopathic Graduate Medical Educators (AOGME) Resident and Fellow Council. Dr. Spencer's active involvement extended to being the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) National Representative for the American Medical Association (AMA) House of Delegates and holding the position of Vice President within the Student Government Association during medical school. 

Dr. Spencer's work on mental health and well-being has earned him recognition, notably with features in Medium Magazine. His significant contributions extend to fostering open dialogues about mental health in osteopathic medicine, evident in his engaging participation on the AACOM Podcast titled “Opening Up About Mental Health: Osteopathic Medicine, Human Connection, and Honest Conversation”. 

Beyond his tenure on the Residents and Fellows Council (RFC), Dr. Spencer's engagement in osteopathic medical education and leadership has persisted. He is part of the AACOM UME-GME Task Force, which is a national effort to address key issues in osteopathic medical education. In August 2023, he presented during the AOGME webinar series sharing his insights and expertise on the value of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills for medical education professionals. 

Dr. Jordan Spencer's academic journey commenced at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. His training culminated in a combined Internal Medicine and Psychiatry Residency at the esteemed Medical University of South Carolina. Presently, he serves the Charleston, South Carolina community through a small private practice, where he practices both psychiatry and internal medicine. As he embarks on his path as an attending physician, Dr. Spencer is driven by a profound aspiration to serve underserved populations and effect transformative change within his local community. While not directly supervising residents presently, Dr. Spencer enthusiastically seeks osteopathic medical students, encouraging outreach for away rotations. He also welcomes keen minds to collaborate on presentations and aims to blend private practice with academia. 

The AOGME takes immense pride in celebrating Dr. Spencer's extraordinary accomplishments along his professional trajectory. His enduring commitment to medical education advancement is a beacon of inspiration, as he continues to make substantial contributions to the medical field through his research, presentations, and dedicated practice.
