AACOM/UNC Sheps Center Graduate Medical Education Development Fellowship 

This workshop provides tools and strategies to develop and expand GME programs. National experts will share insights on finance, program design, and accreditation, addressing challenges like institutional buy-in and barriers in rural and community-based settings. Participants will engage in case-based discussions, collaborative exercises, and real-world examples to build actionable plans and resources for growing sustainable residency programs and strengthening GME capacity at their own institutions.

Advising and Career Development Strategies to Maximize Residency Match Success 

Presented by the AACOM Council on Residency Placement (CORP), this workshop highlights best practices, trends, and data-driven strategies for student advising in the UME to GME transition. Participants will explore effective residency application guidance, advising models, and evolving perspectives in the residency selection and Match process. Designed for advisors, deans, and program directors, and others involved in student career development, it offers practical tools and collaborative methods to improve student outcomes in the residency Match.

Senior Leadership Development Program (SLDP)  

This is a closed program. AACOM welcomes the 2025-2026 SLDP fellows to this workshop. SLDP develops future leaders in osteopathic medical education through immersive learning, mentorship, and a peer-driven capstone project. Fellows strengthen strategic and personal leadership skills while engaging in a national professional network. SLDP Fellows will receive registration instructions.

Taking Academic Promotion Systems to the Next Level: Both Individually and Institutionally 

This workshop provides tools to improve academic promotion systems that recognize diverse OME faculty contributions. Participants will explore inclusive criteria, mentorship, and equity audits, and engage in guided discussions on institutional challenges and solutions. Activities focus on creating frameworks that value teaching, clinical service, and leadership, with guidance on portfolio development, including the use of AI for components like teaching philosophy. Ideal for faculty and administrators seeking to enhance faculty advancement, retention, and institutional alignment with osteopathic values.

Artificial Intelligence in the Future of Osteopathic Medical Education and Professional Development 

Hosted by the AACOM Society of Osteopathic Medical Educators (SOME), the AACOM AI Task Force, and the American Osteopathic Information Association (AOiA), this interactive workshop explores how AI can impact and enhance medical education and faculty development. Topics include evaluating AI tools, integrating AI into curricula, and ethical applications of AI in professional settings. Participants will engage in demonstrations and breakout discussions on institutional implementation and best practices for AI-driven learning.
