The Assembly of Osteopathic Graduate Medical Educators (AOGME), formerly known as the Association of Osteopathic Directors and Medical Educators (AODME), is a professional group that consists of individuals working in osteopathic graduate medical education.
As part of AACOM, the mission of AOGME is to improve the health of the public and enhance the training of medical residents by advancing excellence in the osteopathic learning environment and increasing the number of graduate medical education programs obtaining osteopathic recognition.
The purpose of the assembly is to strengthen and develop the medical education continuum in accordance with the osteopathic philosophy by:
- Supporting leadership and professional development for those engaged in graduate medical education (GME)
- Fostering excellence in the clinical learning environment; and
- Assisting in the development of new community-based GME programs
AOGME provides leadership and tools to assist osteopathic educators in developing physicians who achieve excellence in patient care. We are committed to supporting our members as they strive each day to serve the osteopathic profession in every aspect of their education.
AOGME represents members from many medical education environments:
- Hospitals/Hospital Consortiums
- Specialty Colleges

Within these settings, AOGME members work as Designated Institutional Officials (DIOs), Directors of Medical Education (DMEs), Program Directors, Deans, Academic and Clinical Faculty, Academic and Administrative Officers, Administrative Employees and resident and fellow physicians.
