Curricular Offerings

Our curriculum diverges significantly from traditional medical education. Our blended curricular model pioneers the integration of technology and directed personal guidance, putting students at the center of their medical education experiences. No scheduled classes. No large classroom lectures. The heart of our curriculum is faculty pre-recorded, short video segments covering defined learning objectives. Students engage with core content in small groups of about 3-6 people in on-campus learning pods and collaboratively accomplish required assignments.

Hands-on skills are a crucial competency for successful physicians. Students will have ample opportunity to work with interdisciplinary teams to simulate real healthcare delivery experiences. Discipline-specific clinical experiences are designed in collaboration with local and regional hospitals and clinics, utilizing similar asynchronous, learning objective-driven content.

Pre- and post-rotation instruction for core third-year rotations blend holographic, animated, and live patients with augmented or virtual reality and hands-on task trainers. Proficiencies essential to be a meaningful contributor to the healthcare team are emphasized. The goal and objective of our curricular model are to provide students every tool possible to be a successful clinician, maximizing their professional opportunities.

Clerkship/Clinical Rotations

At Noorda-COM, clinical education is designed to be both high-quality and personalized. Many of our clinical rotations take place in Central Utah, where students gain hands-on experience through strong community partnerships. Students can also explore rural training opportunities across the state, working with diverse patient populations in a variety of care settings. In addition to Utah-based experiences, Noorda-COM has clinical partners across the country, including an established cohort in Miami, Florida. These sites give students the chance to train in different healthcare environments and broaden their clinical perspective. Students work closely with our clinical education team, including deans, directors, and coordinators who focus specifically on rotations. This team helps students identify and pursue rotation opportunities that align with their goals, including opportunities beyond our established sites based on their interests.
