AMA to Host Reimagining Residency Webinar January 16

Published January 07, 2019

The American Medical Association (AMA) will host an informative webinar for those interested in the Reimagining Residency Initiative. The Reimagining Residency Initiative webinar will take place January 16 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM CST. The webinar will provide an overview of the Reimagining Residency request for proposals and answer questions associated with the proposal process. Speakers include Susan E. Skochelak, MD, MPH, AMA Group Vice President, Medical Education; and John S. Andrews, MD, AMA Vice President, GME Innovations.

The Reimagining Residency Initiative was created to help residency training programs better address the workforce needs of the nation’s current and future healthcare system. The five-year, $15 million grant program will build on the success of the Accelerating Change in Medical Education initiative, which provided $12.5 million in grants awarded to 32 medical schools and impacted 19,000 medical students.

Stephen Shannon, DO, MPH, AACOM President and CEO, is a member of the AMA MedEd GME National Advisory Panel on Accelerating Change in Medical Education, and will serve on the AMA Reimagining Residency Initiative review panel.
