Dr. Andrea Amalfitano Appointed Dean of MSUCOM

Andrea AmalfitanoAndrea Amalfitano, DO, PhD, has been appointed Dean of Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM), effective December 14. He has served as the Interim Dean for the college since February 16.

“I can’t imagine a greater honor than leading the college that gave me my start in osteopathic medicine,” Dr. Amalfitano said, referencing his time as an MSUCOM osteopathic medical student in a press release from MSU on his recent appointment.

Prior to his appointment as Interim Dean back in February, Dr. Amalfitano served as Director of MSU’s Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, Professor of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and Pediatrics, and held the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation Endowed Professor of Pediatrics, Microbiology and Molecular Genetics.
