AACOM is proud to welcome to its membership the California Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine (CHSU-COM) in Clovis, CA. AACOM now represents 35 colleges of osteopathic medicine (COMs) in 32 states. The addition of the Clovis campus represents an important milestone for the growing osteopathic medical profession.

CHSU-COM was granted candidate status by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)'s Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA), with the right to recruit its first class for fall of 2020. Aligned with the CHSU mission, the CHSU-COM is the first of its kind for California's Central Valley and hopes to recruit and train physicians who will go on to practice in the region and help provide healthcare to its underserved population. John W. Graneto, DO, is the Founding Dean of the college.

The college’s DO program is planned around a four-year curriculum where students will spend the first two years learning from a modified two-pass systems-based model in a team-based learning environment. In years three and four, students will gain hands-on experience through their clinical clerkships based at regional hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities in the community.
