On January 17, AACOM hosted its second Online Osteopathic Medical School Fair for member schools. The event provided faculty, staff, and current students at AACOM member institutions the opportunity to engage with prospective students across the country. The live event was held from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM ET.

AACOM member institutions— including 34 main and branch campuses of colleges of osteopathic medicine—participated in the online fair. AACOM hosted several live video feeds highlighting OMM, Surgical Simulators, Medical Students and Admissions Officers from our member institutions. U.S. Army Healthcare Recruiting sponsored the fair. As of the date of the event, there were 3,716 registrants and 1898 attendees.

When attendees were surveyed about the fair, 53 percent of respondents self-identified as graduate students, with 37 percent self-identifying as undergraduate students, and 37 percent of all respondents had initiated at least one AACOMAS application.

The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with 97.8 percent of respondents rating the fair as “excellent,” “very good,” or “good.” This is roughly the same response as that of the first Online Fair. When asked prior to the fair how likely they were to attend a college of osteopathic medicine, 81.3 percent of respondents said “very likely.” After attending the fair, participants’ likelihood of attending a college of osteopathic medicine increased another six percent.
