This month, AACOM is finalizing its transition in leadership and saying farewell to AACOM President and CEO, Stephen C. Shannon, DO, MPH. With Dr. Shannon’s support, vision, and leadership, AOGME has thrived within AACOM. .

Recent Webinar Recordings

On June 12, Lorenzo Pence, DO, Senior Vice President, Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), provided an overview of the changes of the Common Program Requirements that will be effective July 1, 2019. .

On June 19, AOGME hosted a webinar featuring Laurie Hommema, MD, Program Director, Riverside Family Medicine, OhioHealth, who discussed the differences between personal and system drivers of physician burnout, and mitigation techniques for both. .

AOGME Programs and Initiatives

Submit a proposal to help develop a national curriculum that will assist graduate medical education training programs in obtaining and maintaining Osteopathic Recognition (OR) through the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The AOGME seeks to develop a curriculum that is flexible enough to be delivered online or live, depending on the resources available at each program. .

The UME-GME Digital Resource Library (DRL)'s Editorial Board led by the AOGME is currently accepting submissions for review at the Board's July meeting. This online tool provides resources on a variety of topics on osteopathic education and training, including Osteopathic Recognition, accreditation, evaluations, and more. Events and resources that provide training to support programs to attain and/or maintain Osteopathic Recognition are strongly encouraged. Deadline for submissions is July 15..
