As we continue to celebrate the holiday season, we want to express our gratitude for your engagement in AOGME and your ongoing leadership in support of the osteopathic profession. As a final reminder, nominations for the 2023 AOGME Awards are still being accepted. There are three categories of awards: Leadership, Special Lifetime Achievement and Special Award of Appreciation. Celebrating 125 Years of AACOM!

Registration is now open for Educating Leaders 2023, the premier event for the osteopathic medical education community! Educating Leaders 2023 will be held in Baltimore, Maryland, from April 26-28, 2023, with the option to attend virtually. Whether you register to attend in-person or online, you will experience three days of thought-provoking plenary presentations, interactive sessions, special events and collaborative programming focused on timely issues facing our nation’s healthcare and medical education systems. Register Here

ACGME/AOGME Osteopathic Recognition Full-Day Course

The ACGME/AOGME Osteopathic Recognition Full-Day Course will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, in Nashville, TN. The first part of the course includes general sessions to allow participants to hear and learn directly from Directors of Osteopathic Education, osteopathic faculty members, and designated osteopathic residents from programs with ACGME Osteopathic Recognition. The second part of the course will orient Directors of Osteopathic Education (DOEs) to their role and responsibilities; this part of the course will be delivered by Osteopathic Recognition Committee leaders and staff members, and all course participants are encouraged to attend. American Osteopathic Association (AOA) CME will be provided by AOGME and may be claimed through completion of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine course evaluation and attestation. Learn More and Register Here.

The AOGME Education Committee has planned AOGME webinars for the remainder of 2022 and the first half of 2023, which include webinars on the transition to residency, imposter syndrome and more. AOGME Council of GME Leaders’ Forums on GME Growth & Development

The next two sessions on Forums on GME Growth & Development hosted by the AOGME Council of GME Leaders will be held in January 2023.

On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 1 PM ET Natalie Nevins, DO, MSHPE, Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education and Program Development at Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine (TUCOM-CA), will share her institution’s GME growth and development story. Register Here
