ARCOM Announces Rance McClain, DO, as Dean

Rance McClain, DOThe Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (ARCOM) has recently announced the appointment of Rance McClain, DO, as Dean. Dr. McClain replaces Ray E. Stowers, DO, FACOFP, who is now Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost for the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education (ACHE). Dr. McClain began his new position January 1, 2019.

Prior to becoming ARCOM Dean, Dr. McClain served as Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine (WCUCOM). He is a 1996 graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCU-COM) and completed his family medicine residency at the Medical Center of Independence in 2000. He also currently serves on various test review committees for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME).

"The people here in the community have been amazing so far," Dr. McClain said in a "Meet the Dean Q&A" organized by the college. "Everyone is open and welcoming and have shown genuine interest when they ask about my transition here."
