Educating Leaders '24 Planning Committee Chair, Stacey L. Pierce-Talsma, DO, MS, FNAOME, is the associate dean of academic affairs and a clinical professor at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNE COM). Dr. Pierce-Talsma completed her internship, residency in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and a Masters degree in Medical Education and Leadership at UNE COM. Previously, she chaired the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Department within Touro University California’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she was named Teacher of the Year in 2015-16 and 2017-18.
Dr. Pierce-Talsma completed AACOM’s Senior Leadership Development Program in 2023, was on AACOM's Ethics and Professionalism Task Force and is currently a fellow of AACOM’s National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators. Additionally, Dr. Pierce-Talsma serves on the American Academy of Osteopathy's Board of Governors and is the Vice-Chair of the Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine Review Committee at the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. She is a past American Osteopathic Association Health Policy Fellow.
Dr. Pierce-Talsma is also a registered yoga teacher and a national lecturer on topics of medical education, yoga and osteopathic manipulative medicine. She is a 2007 graduate of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
